Safeguarding

Promoting a Safer Church

The parish of Brindle St. James' is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies.

The Diocese of Blackburn’s safeguarding pages contain vital information, including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advises our Parish Safeguarding officer Karen Haydock.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please also contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

If you do not have immediate concerns, but would simply like to chat to someone, you will usually find Karen Haydock in church after the 10.30am service. Or please ask Sam Nicol or Jon Price about the best way to get in touch.

A copy of the safeguarding statement issued by the Brindle St. James parish parochial church council is available on this link.
